 Sunday Special!

Jab se mai.n aur Islam hum-Qadam(Jointly eternal) hueay!
('Jab se hosh sambhala hai'(Since my earliest memory) se 'aaj takk'(till today) my life's journey parallel to Islam)
I was born in February 1940 in a village named Dharamgarh, District Patiala, Punjab India in a Sikh family in Nani's house whose maiden name was Krishna devi and Bhagwan Kaur after marriage .Name of my 'Dadi' was Punjabi(Punjab Kaur). It was, "Ek tha Raja regime", everybody was 'Praja' and poor. Religion was not material and 'praja' lived in complete harmony like one family. There was Buddhism in Afghanistan. Afghans were poorest of the poor and were called 'Haatos' and for earning their living they would descend to plains with the advent of winter and with an axe resting on their shoulder would go door to door and ask people if they needed to get their wood splitted into firewood. Dadi used to teach me Punjabi and made it a point to make sure that I took bath and recite 'Mool Mantar' (Basic Principle) before leaving for school. 'Hosh sambhala' in 1946 and am nearing 82 and a US resident today.
Ours was the only one Sikh family that lived in a Muslin 'Mohalla' in a narrow street about six feet wide. My grandfather and father were both in the service of Maharaja Bhupinder Singh of Patiala as Naib(Assistant) and 'Roznamcha' (Daily diary) writer, respectively. The only thing I remember about this stage of life is that opposite our house lived Zivi Chachi and her husband often seen puffing 'Hookah'. They had a gramophone and I used to go to their house to enjoy music the records played on this sound machine. I was not allowed to drink water or eat food in her house .while listening to some record when I needed to drink water, she would send me to my hose for the same and on return would continue after this pause.
Urdu was the state language and I studied Urdu up to  jamayet som(Third standard) using Salet-Saleti, Fatti  and 'kalam- dwaat(Ink pot).Classes were held under mango tree, and we used to sit on Jute carpet known as 'Tat'.' 'In Patiala State All Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims used to support turban.
The Maharaja's summer capital was Chail(Shimla hills) .We used to spend the summer vacation at Chail. Near our house was a fruit shop owned by one Barkatullah I used to go to his shop for a Mango or apple for free.
At high school, our Urdu teacher was a Maulvi, Hindi teacher a Pandit and Punjabi teacher a Gyani. The morning prayers were, "Deh Shiva var mohe yeh hai shubh karman te kabhoo.n na daro.n......(Guru Gobind Singh) and "Lab Pe Aati Hai Dua Banke Tamanna Meri .....(Allama Iqbal).
In Engineering College in 1959 batch, Me ,a turbaned Sikh, Ghulam Hassan Bhatt a Kashmiri Muslim had no problem with the other 58 Hindu class fellows. Religion was not material not even discussed.
I got married in 1967 and had gone to Kasmir for honeymoon. Srinagar was so peaceful that we (my wife in 'Dulhan's' attire wearing gold ornaments) watched a movie in Firdous cinema near Moti Masjid last show middle of night.
I became 'baaghi'(Rebel) against Religion at the age of 7 when I noticed that villages had different wells for upper and lower caste and lower caste people though Sikh were not allowed to enter the shrine in Gurudwara and were served 'Langar' in Gurudwara premises and in their own utensils. On another occasion in the month of June ,at Patiala Railway platform, as the train arrived people ran Helter skelter for drinking water in different directions and I heard voices, 'Hindu paani' 'Muslim paani'.I noticed that there was a set of 3 big earthen pitchers joined together about 200 feet apart and a Muslim and Hindu man serving water at each place. The pitchers covered with green cloth contained Muslim paani and those covered with Red muslin cloth contained Hindu paani. In between the two groups was a hand pump and assistants of both brought water through buckets to replenish the pitchers. I wondered that water at a depth of about 15 feet becomes Hindu and Muslim on entering the bucket!
In Patiala State All Hindus, Sikhs and Muslims used to support turban.Grand Ma told me that Foundation stone of the Holiest shrine of the Sikhs, the Golden Temple in Amritsar was got laid from Muslim saint Sayyad Mia.n Mir. Bhai Mardana a Muslim was a permanent companion of Guru Nanak, who is the only 'Kafir'(Non-Muslim) who visited Mecca.
Islaam----The Followers of Islam have gone from 'Insaaniyat'(Humanity) to 'Haiwaaniat'(Animalism) as I approached evening of my life. "Every great idea starts out as a blasphemy." says Bertrand Russell & so says the Holy Quran, Surah 9:5: "Then kill the disbelievers (non-Muslims) wherever you find them, capture them, and besiege them, and lie in wait for them in each and every ambush …"The basic text of Islam calls for violence and aggression against followers of other faiths. Nobody has a right to choose parents It's Allah's will that one is born to parents having faith other than Islam. Muslims are going against Allah's will. My interpretation of this Ayaet is that Allah means fight against the Satan within not outside. During Hajj ,while the casting of stones at the Devil symbolizes the expulsion of evil from within and serves to protect the pilgrims from evil when they return to everyday life.
and also, So Says Allah,
"O disbelievers! I worship not that which ye worship. Nor worship ye that which I worship. And I shall not worship that which ye worship. Nor will ye worship that which I worship. Unto you your religion, and unto me my religion."
Qur'an 109:1-6
Islamic Education:
Quran is considered the word of God and purpose of accessing the full blessings of the Quran is the only aspiration for most of the Muslims. Education in Islam is considered religious instructions. Memorization of the Koran is central to the curriculum of the kuttāb or Maktab children should be sent to a maktab school from the age of 6 and be taught primary education until they reach the age of 14. During which time they should be taught the Qur'an, Islamic metaphysics, language, literature, Islamic ethics, and manual skills but little or no attempt be made to analyse and discuss the meaning of the text. In the primary schools of Pakistan, it is taught how to behead a person committing blasphemy. The 'ulama' (religious scholars) are "self-appointed interpreters and guardians of religious knowledge.… learning is confined to the transmission of traditions and dogma and is hostile to research and scientific inquiry. "Secularism is anathema(someone or something intensely disliked or loathed or curse) to Islam.'Sufism'(mystical Islamic belief and practice in which Muslims seek to find the truth of divine love and knowledge through direct personal experience of God). yielded place to 'Wahhabism(Islamic revivalist and fundamentalist movement)
Fundamentalism and Intolerance:
The Kashmiri militants killed anyone who openly expressed pro-India policies. Kashmiri Hindus were targeted specifically because they were seen as presenting Indian presence in Kashmir because of their faith. Insurgency had been launched by JKLF, groups rose advocating for establishment of Nizam-e-Mustafa (administration based on Sharia) on Islamist groups proclaimed the Islamification of socio-political and economic set-up, unification of ummah and establishment of an Islamic Caliphate. Liquidation of central government officials, Hindus, liberal and nationalist intellectuals, social and cultural activists was described as necessary to rid the valley of un-Islamic elements. There was Buddhism in many Muslim countries including Afghanistan The forefathers of the Taliban tolerated these statues of Gautam Budha for 14 centuries but the Taliban Blasted the statues in 1999 as they came to power.
Priyantha Diyawadana, a Sri Lankan national who worked as general manager of a factory of the industrial engineering company Rajco Industries in Sialkot, Punjab, was set upon by a violent crowd. “Mr Kumara allegedly tore a poster of the hardline Tehreek-e-Labbaik Pakistan (TLP) in which Quranic verses were inscribed and threw it in the dustbin. The poster of the Islamist party was pasted on the wall adjoining the office of Kumara. A couple of factory workers saw him removing the poster and spread the word in the factory,” the official said.
"The pistol-wielding men came into a school in Srinagarand asked for the identity cards of the teachers and later fired at two teachers, one each from the minority Sikh and Hindu community," Satinder Kour, the principal, and teacher Deepak Chand died on the spot

As mourners entered Ms. Kaur’s house, a Muslim woman, Safina Bano, stood outside the gate weeping. Ms. Kaur used to give her money from her salary every month so that she could send her children to school, Ms. Bano said. "She was a woman with a big heart and a nice smile,” she said. “When she helped my children go to school, she did not think they were Muslims, Hindus or Sikhs.”

There is bloodshed in the name of Islam throughout the world .Islam and 'Insaaniyat' are at 180 degrees. I feel Islam is on its last legs.
