One hadith in particular that underscores this message comes from a collection called An-Nawawi:
Whosoever removes a worldly grief from a believer, Allah will remove from him one of the griefs of the Day of Judgment. Whosoever alleviates [the lot of] a needy person, Allah will alleviate [his lot] in this world and the next. Whosoever shields a Muslim, Allah will shield him in this world and the next. Allah will aid a slave [of His] so long as the slave aids his brother. Whosoever follows a path to seek knowledge therein, Allah will make easy for him a path to Paradise. No people gather together in one of the houses of Allah, reciting the Book of Allah and studying it among themselves, but tranquility and peace descends upon them, mercy envelopes them, the angels surround them, and Allah makes mention of them among st those who are with Him. And whosoever is slowed down by his actions will not be hastened forward by his lineage.

I'm not a Muslim by birth but by faith I'm a Believer, I believe in one God ,name Him God, Allah,Eshwar, Bhagwan ,Hari .Unlike mention in the Hadith,my Allah ,I call Him Waheguru,teaches me to shield not only Muslims but also all His creations irrespective of the religion of person's parents.House of my Allah is Called Gurudwara(,Hari's mandir), and my Meca is known as Harmandar Sahib,( Golden Temple),My Temple's foundation stone was laid by a Muslim by the name of Sayyad Mian Mir.My Holy Book ,Guru Granth Sahib,Contains teachings of Hindu ,Muslim,Sikh Saints such as Baba Farid( Muslim),Sadhna Kasayee(a Muslim Butcher),Kabir dass,(a Muslim by birth),Amar dass Bhalla ( the third guru) who was a Vaishnaite made the Langar ( Free kitchen) Service of Vegetarian food mandatory. The first Guru,Baba Nanak Dev was the only non-muslim who Visited Mecca,had a long time companion,Bhai Mardana (a Muslim)
