Quote of the Week!
Quote of the Week!
In Basti Kapoor Rahim Yar Khan,Alam Ram Bheel, his family and 15 other women worked in a piece of land in Chak-106.
On
September 9, Bheel went outside a nearby mosque to fetch drinking water
from a tap. Meanwhile, local landlord Mian Ghaffar went there and
questioned him over fetching water from the place of worship saying he
was violating the sanctity of the mosque. On the intervention of some
local people, Ghaffar stopped the assault with a warning to never fetch
water from the site, the FIR says. Ghaffar and his accomplices are also
accused of depriving the Bheel family members of cash Rs 35,000 and gold
ornaments worth Rs 85,000.
My Comments on the Incident:
The Mosque wasn’t just a place to worship God “Allah” and do the 5 daily prayers, it was way more than that. As it turns out, the Prophet Mohammad, used the Mosque as a multitasking place, It was a school where he used to teach his people, a place where he conducted meetings and where he met delegations. He even let non-Muslims stay in the Mosque.
Non-Muslims
are permitted to enter mosques except for the grand mosque
al-Haram(Prayer Hall). This view is in line with citations from al-Qur’an
and al-Sunnah(Social and legal customs & practices)
The Quote:
"Water is basic human right and fulfilling this right is an excellent 'Sadaqah'(Voluntary charity). Those who don't give water to the thirsty are missing out an opportunity to draw closer to Allah for not taking care of his creation, for,He says in Qur'an(21:30),By means of water we give life to everything 'and whosoever saves a life-it is as if he had saved all mankind'(Qur'an,5:32)."
