Dot is called a ‘full stop’ (British English) or a ‘period’ (American English) can stop continuous flow of pen.! (as has done to me),It's other form however allowed me to proceed,but again it's another form again stopped me to proceed;

It was derived from the Greek Punctuation which is credited to Aristophanes of Byzantium. He in the3rd century in B.C. defined a system of punctuation using dots, these dots could be placed in three positions : low dot ⟨.⟩ called the hypostigmḕ (ὑποστιγμή) or "underdot", marked an occasion for a short breath after a short phrase middot ⟨·⟩ called the stigmḕ mésē (στιγμὴ μέση) or “middle dot”, marked an occasion for a long breath after a long sentence

Later only the people employed the dot (full stop) in practice, the others fell out of use and were later replaced by other symbols. Afterwards the middot ⟨·⟩ got replaced by semi-colon ⟨;⟩ and the underdot ⟨.⟩ got replaced by a comma ⟨,)

Artists use Millions of Dots to crate a piece of Art.A fine example   is a DOT of Millions of Dots ( Pictured above)

In Urdu 'Lafaz' means-Alphabets,'Her -Pher' -Re-arrangement,'Baarish' 'Rain','Nuqta' -Dot ,'Khuda'-God,'Juda'-Separated

Translation:

By Re-arrangement of same Letters, Rain becomes-'Sharaab'( Liquor)

A misplaced dot which while writing “Khuda” (God) would convert it to “juda” (separated).
