A   student from UK came to India to write a Thesis on rural life in India.It was Summer season and the month of June while traveling through rural Punjab he had a problem , he was not used to such a high temperature in a Country like India.While passing along 'Phirni' ( Circular path around the village), to get respite from heat,he sat under a shady tree. But heat was unbearable, he then removed his shirt and trouser,he saw a village pond and started bathing.Getting some relief he decided to remain in water till the evening and enjoyed swimming.When he came out of the pond some leaches from the pond accompanied him to enjoy the blood from white skin to their heart's content. A Million Dollar Question! I Joined Thapar Engineering College Patiala (Now Thapar University),in the year 1959.At that time there used to be a mixed lot of teachers.W.R.C.Coode Adams Was the Principal of the College and taught us Physics.T.H.Terry used to teach Electrical Engineering.( both were from UK) Humanities teacher was Prof. Wadhawa Ram who used to support a white turban.I had a unique position in the class,Firstly I was lone Sikh in a class of 60,Secondly I was the only student who played  H ockey and Captioned the team,and was considered  a'Dabang' and naughty,The Professors while taking attendance never called me by name,if they see a turban would mark 'P' in the register otherwise 'A',I was at a disadvantage too as No body could be a proxy for me.
